Academic Requirements:
• A professional accounting designation (CA, CMA or CGA) and the completion of the CICA In-depth tax course is desirable.
Experience Required:
• Strong working knowledge of Canadian Federal and Provincial tax statutes,
regulations and administrative practices, along with Canadian and US GAAP.
• Ability to work effectively both in a team environment and on an individual basis
• Good project management skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skill
Job Description:
• Assist with the development and implementation of effective tax rate planning and cash tax management practices and become actively involved with acquisitions, divestitures and reorganizations as they arise.
• Management of the Group’s income and commodity tax compliance requirements and ensuring timely and accurate completion of same. Involvement in all tax audits pertaining to the Group.
• Implementation and maintenance of Sox 404 compliant internal controls.
• Active involvement in the ongoing development and documentation of the company’s transfer pricing (TP) policies in conjunction with the TP leader.
• The mentoring, professional development and motivation of junior staff.
